WHAT YOU EXPERIENCE
Experience the full week-long Yamabushi training as you journey through the three sacred peaks symbolizing the present, past, and future
Take part in practices like Zen meditation, waterfall meditation, hiking, night walks, and intentional silence that connect you fully with the present moment
Train directly under 13th‑generation Yamabushi Master Hoshino in a setting that feels like a Dojo — strict yet warm — together with a small group of participants who are serious about meaningful change.
Practice-based: It’s important to note that while prayer, chanting, and meditation are a key and consistent component of the program there is no obligation or pressure to subscribe to Shugendo, Buddhism, or Shinto as a religion.

TRAIN UNDER MASTER HOSHINO
Master Hoshino has been leading Yamabushi training for over 80 years, guiding thousands of practitioners. As one of fewer than 50 Yamabushi to complete the grueling 100-day Winter Peak Ritual, his mastery is both lineage-based and hard-won.
His philosophy centers on direct embodied approach to practice that cuts through mental clutter.
"Put simply, sensing with your soul is everything. Do everything as your soul senses and you will have no trouble. Trouble happens when we get stuck in our heads. We make things difficult for ourselves precisely because we overthink. Start by sensing with your soul, you will have no trouble. Act at the whim of your soul, and things will go smoothly."
Under his guidance, the Masters Training is not just physical endurance—it's a path to clarity, intuition, and grounded decision-making drawn from 1,400 years of mountain wisdom.
TESTIMONIALS
“As an American feeling overwhelmed with my workload and lacking life balance, I sought out a stress management retreat. After compiling a list of over 20 retreats worldwide, a video call with Tak and Rick gave me the confidence to pursue Yamabushi training."
—B.L. from United States“The week-long Master's Shugyo is truly a metaphor for birth, death and rebirth. Every aspect seems meticulously designed to serve as meditation and a reflection on your life and how you fit in the larger world. This is a rigorous program and not a mere tour group."
—M.V. from United States"The world is moving very fast and our connections to Mother Nature and our own is becoming increasingly distant... You must relinquish your ego and control. Please view it as a 'spiritual boot camp' for one week where you completely leave yourself.”
